The New South Wales Touch Association is pleased to announce the venues for the next three NSW Touch Junior State Cup Northern and Southern Conferences have been confirmed.

The Southern Conference has been awarded to Wagga Wagga and the Northern Conference to Dubbo.

With both venues locked in for the next three years the traditional structure for dates remains, that being the Southern Conference in the third full weekend (Fri-Sun), and the Northern Conference  on the fourth full weekend (Fri-Sun) of February.

NSWTA General Manager was pleased with the outcome. “Both venues have proven to not only be popular but importantly have delivered on elements of the event that we are conscious of that give out participants the best possible experience.

Wagga Wagga are five years into the delivery of the Southern Conference and year on year improve the experience for all attendees. Dubbo stepped in to aid us in 2023 and provided one of the great venues and experiences the sport has delivered” stated Russell.

Both tenders were compelling in a tough field and met key criteria that have allowed the NSWTA to be able to provide our participants with quality venues, exceptional experiences and commercially allowed costs to remain constant.

Mayor of the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Dallas Tout has welcomed the announcement that the city has secured the Southern Conference for another three years.

“Wagga Wagga has hosted this event for the past five years and it has been a hugely successful event for both the NSW Touch Association and our local community,” Cr Tout said.

“It’s a great reflection on our city’s ability to host these types of top-level events and carnivals and on the quality of our sporting facilities. The venue has received great feedback on the quality of the playing surface and the layout of the venue.

“We look forward to welcoming all the players, families, and supporters to organisers and volunteers back to the Jubilee Park precinct.”

Dubbo Regional Council Mayor, Mathew Dickerson was equally pleased with the announcement.

“The 2023 competition was such a triumph, that is it no surprise to us that Dubbo was chosen to continue to host it until 2026,” Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council, Mathew Dickerson said.

Dubbo’s exceptional facilities, location in central New South Wales, large range of accommodation options including a home stay program, layout and organisation of the previous event and ease of parking at the site were all factors in the decision to bestow the event on the city.

“With over 7000 visitors to Dubbo during the three days and an estimated $4 million dollars injected into the local economy, February’s event was a testament to what the collaboration between NSW Touch Football, Dubbo Touch Association and Dubbo Regional Council can achieve.

“I’m sure it’s just a glimpse of what they’ll achieve over the next three years,” Clr Dickerson said.

Both Council’s and Touch Associations will work with the NSW Touch Association and the local community to provide the high-level sporting event.
